Casting

Cottam produces aluminum castings in A380, A383, A360 and most other alloys in cold-chamber machines ranging from 350 to 1,200 tons. Zinc castings in Zamac 3, Zamac 5, Zamac 7, and ZA-8 are in hot-chamber machines ranging from 80 to 800 tons.

Each of our aluminum cold-chamber machines are equipped with an individual furnace that provides the flexibility required to run different materials in each machine while providing adequate material supply. In addition, our hot chamber machines are also self-sustainable with the requisite melting capacity to support the largest parts produced in their tonnage class.
